Get answers to common questions about Lips Sugaring.
A Lips Sugaring appointment usually takes 10–15 minutes from start to finish, including consultation and light prep. Timing varies by hair amount; expect a quick, efficient service ideal for busy schedules.
Most clients find sugaring less painful than waxing because the paste adheres to hair rather than skin and is applied at body temperature. Pain is brief and tolerable; experienced technicians and pre-treatment numbing options further reduce discomfort.
Exfoliate gently 2–3 days before to remove dead skin, avoid retinoids or heavy acids 48 hours prior, and ensure hair is about 1/8–1/4 inch long. Skip lotions on the day and inform your technician about medications or recent sun exposure.
Most clients enjoy smooth upper lip skin for three to six weeks, depending on individual growth cycles. Regular sugaring over time often leads to softer, sparser regrowth and longer intervals between treatments.
You can apply light makeup shortly after treatment, but it’s best to wait 10–30 minutes so the skin calms. Avoid heavy, pore-clogging products on freshly treated skin and use soothing, non-comedogenic formulas if needed.
Mild redness, sensitivity, or tiny bumps are common and typically resolve within a few hours to a day. Rarely, folliculitis or minor irritation can occur. Following aftercare—gentle cleansing and avoiding heat or exfoliation—helps prevent complications.
